Brandon Malone is an advocate, barrister, arbitrator, mediator and adjudicator with 30 years experience in dispute resolution. Brandon is an advocate with Ampersand Advocates in Scotland with rights of audience before the Court of Session, the High Court, and the UK Supreme Court, and a practising barrister (Inner Temple) authorised to practice in all courts in England and Wales. He also has rights of audience before the DIFC Court, Dubai. Prior to calling to the Scottish bar, Brandon was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Construction Law, and as a specialist in Arbitration Law, and convened the Society’s Arbitration Accreditation Committee. In 2016, he became Scotland’s first Approved Solicitor Arbitrator. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and in 2013, Brandon was elected an eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee and has recently completed two terms as an External Examiner in arbitration law and practice at Robert Gordon University.
Brandon was a driving force behind the establishment of the Scottish Arbitration Centre and was the Chairman of the Centre’s Board from its inception in 2011 until 2022. He is also Co-Director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration.
Brandon is regularly appointed as an arbitrator and he is a member of the panel of arbitrators of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, New York, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Asian International Arbitration Centre, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, Abu Dhabi Global Markets Arbirtration Centre, and of the Bahrain Chamber of Dispute Resolution.

Brandon is very active in the world of international arbitration. He is a member of the board of the Scottish Arbitration Centre. He is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. He chairs the ICCA-New York City Bar-CPR Institute Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration. In September 2022, Brandon chaired the highly successful XXVth Congress of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration, ICCA 2022 Edinburgh.
